SAP: Building Reputation and Image

IC English

SAP – a German multinational and a leader in B2B technology – has been a client of Imagem Corporativa (IC) since 2018. The company has advanced in consolidating its ESG agenda, relying on IC’s strategic consultancy to amplify this purpose among key stakeholders.

SAP as an Enabler of Sustainability

SAP Brazil serves as both a role model in ESG and a sustainability enabler for the market through its comprehensive suite of solutions. With the growing corporate commitment to sustainable practices, SAP has intensified efforts to help clients integrate and measure sustainability indicators across various operational stages.

The company has mapped how its solutions can be utilized to gather, analyze, and measure all 90 key economic, environmental, and social performance indicators proposed by the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI). This enables businesses to better understand and communicate their impact on critical sustainability issues.

To position itself as a sustainability enabler, SAP employs a communication strategy that highlights its leadership in the field and showcases client success stories demonstrating progress in this area.

Thought Leadership

To gauge the perspectives of business executives in Latin America regarding sustainability, SAP conducted a survey with over 450 medium- and large-sized companies in Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, and Colombia. The study revealed that sustainability is a top priority for companies in the region. Among the presidents and directors interviewed, 45% stated they have a sustainability strategy in place, while 22% reported being in the implementation phase. In Brazil, executives appeared slightly more conservative, with 42% and 19%, respectively.

The study, titled “Sustainability in the Agenda of Latin American Leaders,” was exclusively featured in Estado de São Paulo and subsequently echoed across the media, generating 10 articles in national-level outlets.

Diversity & Inclusion Leadership

For SAP, sustainability means creating social, environmental, and economic value. These values are reflected in its leadership’s stance on urgent societal issues such as gender equity, diversity and inclusion, mental health, and corporate responsibility. Notably, Adriana Aroulho, CEO of SAP, was recognized as an Impact Leader by the UN Global Compact Brazil Network. Adriana is a spokesperson for SDG 10 (Reducing Inequalities).

In its communication strategy, SAP advocates for a sustainable corporate strategy. This involves embedding sustainability in its solutions, operations, and social investments.
